60 Second hairstyles to master this lockdown

Your Zoom call starts in a minute and your hair looks like birds have nested in it. You’re always rushed for time in the morning and can’t brush out that bedhead look. Or maybe you’ve got zero interest to do your hair because who will see it anyway (given you’ve mastered video filters)?
We hear you, this can be lockdown life. But you don’t need to spend ages for a decent hairstyle. Here’s how you can look cute in a minute or less thanks to hairstyle accessories and a tiny bit of effort, minus the hassle.
1. Clip Ponytail
This is just as effortless as the low ponytail and takes even less time. Brush and gather your hair in a ponytail in the middle of your head. Use a claw clip to secure the base, letting the rest of your hair cascade into the pony.
Depending on the thickness of your hair, you may need to add bobby pins as well. Otherwise, this is an easy to achieve style using just one hairstyle accessory.
2. Side swept braided fringe
A hairstyle that looks sweet as can be and also hides that ‘much-needed haircut’ look, a braided fringe is easy to do.
Brush your hair and use a comb to create a defined side part. Not sure where your part should start? Use the outer edge of your eyebrow to guide you.
Secure the rest of your hair in a pony or bun while you work on your side swept fringe. Begin braiding from the start of the part and continue along your fringe, then keep the braid in place with bobby pins. If you’ve got time, you can braid the other side of your fringe, or keep to just one braid.
3. Double buns
This adorable look even works with short to mid-length hair, so if you don’t have long enough locks to pile into a messy bun, this is a great option.
Brush your hair and separate into a middle part. Take a section of your hair from your hairline to the left of the part and tie into a small bun – then do the same for the section of hair to the right. Secure with elastics and add colourful clips for a cute touch.

4. Half-up half-down
Want to get the hair out of your eyes but bored of just tying it back? The half-up half-down hairstyle not only is the best of both of worlds but it’s super easy.
Simply brush your hair and then separate the top section of your hair, pulling it back and securing it in place. Alternate between using a bow, elastic, scrunchie, claw grip, cuff and barrette to give this look something different and keep it looking fresh.

5. Natural hair down
For those incredibly stretched for time (sleep through your alarm again? We’re not judging), this look can be achieved in a fraction of a minute. Just brush your hair and pop on a headband – instantly you will look more polished.
For a homage to the 90s that will keep your hair neat throughout the day, accessorise with a headband accordion.

6. Topsy Tail
This is one of those hairstyles that looks complicated but really is a piece of cake. Grab your Topsy Tail and set your timer, because you’ll have great looking hair in a minute or less.
Pull your hair into a ponytail and secure with an elastic, then insert the Topsy Tail behind the elastic (in the middle of your pony). Thread your hair through the loop, pulling the pointy part of the Topsy Tail down through the loop and behind the elastic.
You’ll have the perfect twist and a super cute hairstyle that looks professional and stylish.

7. Low Ponytail
It doesn’t get simpler than this hairstyle, which works for mid-length to long hair. Grab your hairbrush (or use your fingers for a textured look if you’re especially pushed for time, or someone’s hogging the bathroom) and smooth your hair, securing with an elastic at the nape of your neck.
If this is your go-to style, change up your hairstyle accessories every so often so you don’t get bored. Keep things sleek with an elastic in the same colour of your hair or make the look pop with a scrunchie, pony cuff or elastics bowtie.
Choose an Elastics Comfy bow for those days when you want to drift between your screen and bed – the soft fabric won’t dig into your head when it hits the pillow.
